Inspired by an old and now vintage 1980s desktop computer, this necklace commemorates a throwback to “old technology” while also considering where we are with our tech as a people in the year 2025.
Since AI rolled out, people have been using it for some productive tasks, some creative, and some just weird. The most ominous has been asking the machine about what the future might hold. Just as in previous times tarot cards have been used, now there’s a new oracle on the scene. In an effort to bring light to the sign of these times, I created a 1980s desktop computer, where it all began for the individual to interact with a machine in an intimate way. The screen is made of a crystal stone, a gentle nod to the use of crystals in support of practices when using tarot.
